Qualifying for the Indianapolis 500 in 2024 will be held over two days, on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of May, with the race itself scheduled for Sunday 26th May. The event is part of a motorsport extravaganza together with the Monaco Grand Prix and NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600. Kyle Larson, the 2021 NASCAR Cup champion, is attempting double duty by racing in both the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 on the same day, a feat not attempted in 10 years. Qualifying involves each car in the 34-car field completing one four-lap run, with the average speed determining their starting position. The top 30 qualifiers are guaranteed a spot in the race, while the remaining positions are determined through additional qualifying sessions. The Fast Six session decides the pole position for the Indianapolis 500.
